Add HTML Alt Tags and Title Tags to Images of Blogger (Blogspot) Blog

add alt tags and title tags
In Search Engine Optimization (SEO), we have to maintain some seo criteria. I think, now a days on page seo is more important and effective than off page seo. Adding meta and title tag, heading tag, image optimization etc. Image optimization is very important for optimizing your site. As a result, you can get more visitors from image search and web search. To optimize an image we have to add alt tag (alternative text) and title tag of image. Many don’t use alt and title attribute for image. It is now wise for better seo.

Why is alt tag and title tag of Image important for SEO?

Search Engine bots specially Google Bot can’t read your image. They can’t detect what your photo is about. They only can read texts. Suppose you have added a picture of computer in a post, Google can’t won’t be able to know what about your picture is. If you use title and alt tag to your picture, your post and image will be more seo friendly and internet browser will show the image title even If the browser’s image load option is stopped. Hope you have understood why you should put alt and title tag to an image.

So, How can we add alt tag and title tag to an image?

In wordpress, we can put title and alt tag while uploading. New blogspot bloggers don’t know how to do it.  I am showing the steps for that.

Step 1:   Add an Image as usual method in your new post or if you have already added any image start from Step 2
Step 2:   Now click on the uploaded Image > click on Properties>

Step 3:   Now put your suitable “title tag” in title text box and “alt tag” in alt text box. They should not be more than 4/5 words. Alt tag should be your main key word of your post. Then click on OK.

add alt and title tag to image

Now have already done it.

How to link your post with image?

But your Image will not link to your post. If you click on the Image, it will not show your post but show only the picture. You have add link with the image to your post. For this follow the step.

Step 1: After uploading image and putting the title and alt tag to image, click on the Edit HTML tab from the Post Editor Box Toolbar

Step 2:  Search for your image html source code. That looks something like that

<div style="text-align: left;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGFJHRe7WQlIJcolJkfnw1Y8JY9mrXpwFy3Jci2JYoI5kqHEIlAdkni0jbysuLt3vblcLScwh6uB7G__361x1NsXIbAEMfiXIR2erezNu_ssYDEWuNl4jkalHPX5PqpG4Z2Rev0FaoeL8f/s1600/images.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; display: inline !important; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="120" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGFJHRe7WQlIJcolJkfnw1Y8JY9mrXpwFy3Jci2JYoI5kqHEIlAdkni0jbysuLt3vblcLScwh6uB7G__361x1NsXIbAEMfiXIR2erezNu_ssYDEWuNl4jkalHPX5PqpG4Z2Rev0FaoeL8f/s200/images.jpg" width="200" /></a>
</div>

Step 3:   Now delete the red colored link and replace your post link.

Now your post image is fully ready for better optimization. Always try to use your post keyword (Just one keyword) on your Image Alt Tag. It will help you get visitors from Image Search of the search engines too. You may also read Changing title tag of blog post.

Take the surprise out of your trip east of Snoqualmie Pass; know before you go

 By guest blogger Meagan McFadden

Drivers traveling on I-90 this summer need to know
before they go to avoid construction-related delays.
Several major road improvement projects will delay you if you drive over I-90 this year as we improve sections of roadway across a 50-mile stretch.

Crews are scheduled to start work again in mid-April on a dozen projects that add lanes, build bridges, repave bridge decks and repair cracked sections of pavement.

Construction at several locations east of Snoqualmie Pass will require single-lane closures and rolling slowdowns this summer, which will add to travel time. During construction, drivers need to add at least an hour to their east-west trips, especially if trying to catch a flight or make a time-sensitive appointment.

It’s going to be a very busy construction season on I-90 and when we say, ‘plan ahead’, we mean it. We’re letting you know now, so you can take the surprise out of your trip and plan accordingly.

We have a wide variety of resources to help drivers take the surprise out of their trips across I-90 this year. Drivers can find information on multiple websites, including the What’s Happening on I-90, Snoqualmie Mountain Pass and Traffic Alerts pages. Drivers can also follow us on Twitter @snoqualmiepass and @wsdot_passes or sign up for email updates. While on the road, drivers can use our travel time signs to find out how long it will take them to get to their destination.

In mid-April, crews resume work on a $551 million project that builds a wider, safer and more reliable stretch of I-90 from Hyak to Keechelus Dam. Later this spring, crews on this 5-mile-long project will resume blasting along the rock slopes east of Snoqualmie Pass. Drivers need to plan for hour-long closures, Mondays through Thursdays, starting an hour before sunset. Due to the nature of blasting operations this year, some closures may last longer than an hour.

In late April, crews will begin deck repair on five bridges along I-90 between Easton and Ellensburg. Crews will remove a thin layer of the existing bridge deck, repair damaged concrete, reinforce the deck with steel and repave with asphalt. Crews will also begin repaving deteriorating pavement in both directions west of Easton Hill. Drivers could experience delays of up to 15 minutes Monday through Friday through the work zone.

Putting Common Sense Back in the Driver’s Seat

Earlier this week we learned that West Virginia legislators are considering a modification to the state’s texting ban that would prohibit driver use of a “wearable computer with a head mounted display.” With growing hype surrounding Google Glass and this emerging technology, lawmakers say this is an attempt to get ahead of the curve and cover their bases with regards to distracted driving. As currently written, WV law would permit the use of virtual goggles as hands-free devices.

Legislation plays a vital role in the traffic safety equation. With the explosion in cell phones and other mobile systems, however, we know that the development of new technologies almost always outpaces legislative considerations of whether these devices belong in the vehicle. Moreover, even if West Virginia’s efforts to preemptively address emerging technologies became the new norm nationwide, our police departments and patrol officers would need substantially enhanced resources to be able to enforce such laws.

So where does this leave us? With a reminder that common sense is what truly belongs in the driver’s seat. We know distracted driving is a problem. Nearly 90 percent of us even say it’s a bigger problem today than it was three years ago. And we know that when other drivers talk on cell phones or send text messages, it feels threatening to our own personal safety. Yet many of us keep doing it ourselves.

While it is gratifying to see safety-conscious attitudes at all levels, we must remember that it is each and every one of us who is ultimately responsible for safeguarding our nation’s highways. Moreover, recognizing that legislation won’t be able to restrict every distracting technology as soon as it hits the market, it is incumbent upon us to “self-regulate” and avoid using these devices while driving. Not because it’s the law, but because it’s the right thing to do.

Imagery on Google Maps of Fukushima Exclusion Zone Town Namie-machi

From time to time we invite guests to post about items or interest and are pleased to have Mister Tamotsu Baba, Mayor of Namie-machi, Fukushima, Japan, join us here. - Ed.

Namie-machi is a small city in Fukushima Prefecture sitting along the coast of the Pacific. We are blessed with both ocean and mountains, and known as a place where you can experience both the beauty of the sea and the forests. Tragically, however, since the nuclear accident caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 11, 2011, all of Namie-machi’s 21,000 townspeople have had to flee their homes.

Two years have passed since the disaster, but people still aren’t allowed to enter Namie-machi. Many of the displaced townspeople have asked to see the current state of their city, and there are surely many people around the world who want a better sense of how the nuclear incident affected surrounding communities.

Working with Google, we were able to drive Street View cars through Namie-machi to capture panoramic images of the abandoned city exactly as it stands today. Starting today, this Street View imagery is available on Google Maps and the Memories for the Future site, so anyone from Namie or around the world can view it.

Here is one of Namie-machi’s main streets, which we often used for outdoor events like our big Ten Days of Autumn festival that saw 300 street stalls and 100,000 visitors.

Many buildings, like this one in the foreground, collapsed during the earthquake, and we still have not been able to remove them. We are also unable to repair damaged buildings and shops nor prepare them for the potential impact of further aftershocks.

This image shows an area located one kilometer inland from the Pacific Ocean. In the distance you can see Ukedo Elementary School. Nearby Ukedo Harbor once proudly boasted 140 fishing boats and 500 buildings, but suffered some of the worst tsunami damage. After being set off-limits, we have not been able to clean up the wreckage on the side of the road, including the many fishing boats that were washed several kilometers inland.

Ever since the March disaster, the rest of the world has been moving forward, and many places in Japan have started recovering. But in Namie-machi time stands still. With the lingering nuclear hazard, we have only been able to do cursory work for two whole years. We would greatly appreciate it if you viewed this Street View imagery to understand the current state of Namie-machi and the tremendous gravity of the situation.

Those of us in the older generation feel that we received this town from our forebearers, and we feel great pain that we cannot pass it down to our children. It has become our generation’s duty to make sure future generations understand the city’s history and culture—maybe even those who will not remember the Fukushima nuclear accident. We want this Street View imagery to become a permanent record of what happened to Namie-machi in the earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear disaster.

Finally, I want to make a renewed commitment to recovering from the nuclear hazard. It may take many years and many people’s help, but we will never give up taking back our hometown.
